The Power of Proper Hydration :
One of the easiest yet most effective strategies for increased energy, focus and performance is proper hydration. Most people simply do not drink enough water.
All of your bodies processes require water. In fact, our bodies are comprised of nearly 70-80% water. Hydration has an effect on Digestion, body temperature regulation, metabolism, moods, thinking, elimination as well as skin health.
The following are the best current recommendations:
Tips & Suggestions:
Daily water intake should equal half your body weight in ounces. So for example, a 200 lb person should consume a minimum of 100 ounces of water a day. One would need to increase this base amount according to excessive outdoor temperatures and manual work.
We suggest the following to assist you get that minimum amount of water ingested:
1. Drink a tall glass of water first think upon rising. This also assists in re-hydrating the brain and body after a nights sleep.
2. Drink a tall glass of water before and after eat meal. This promotes elimination, metabolism and digestion.
3. One glass of water one hour prior to going to bed.
By doing the above, you create a habit of better hydrations that helps meet your hydration needs consistently. Another strategy is filling a bottle each morning with your daily water requirements. Make sure it is empty by bed time. Some people put a specific amounts of rubber bands, each representing a glass of water on one wrist. After drinking a glass of water one switches a rubber band to the other wrist. By days end, all rubber bands she be moved to the opposite wrist. There are also Apps on our cell phones that can help serve as reminders as well.
